Dell Alienware 13 R3 has been upgraded from an Intel Skylake CPU to a 7th Generation Kaby Lake. Dell Alienware has 13.3 inches and a 1440p OLED display instead of just a regular IPS or TN LCD.
the Dell Alienware 13 R3 is the first 13.3-inch laptop in Alienware history to feature quad-core, H-class, processors.
Here are some specifications of the Alienware 13 review:
- Display: 2560×1440 OLED Anti-Glare
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
- Processor: Intel Core i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz
- Memory: 16GB DDR4 2667MHz
- OS: Windows 10
- OS Drive: 512GB SATA SSD
- Optical Drive: N/A
The Alienware 13 R3 is only average when it comes to weight. 2.5 kg (~5.5 lb) is not a lot for a gaming notebook, but there are more portable rivals.
The Alienware 13 R3 also has enough USB ports. On the left is a classic 3.0 Type-A jack while on the right side a combination of USB 3.0 Type-A and 3.0 Type-C. Microphones, headsets, and/or speakers can be attached via stereo jacks on the left side.
The Alienware 13 is the smallest VR-ready system on the market, thanks to its Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU with 6GB of VRAM.
The cooling fans ramp up rather slowly under load without any nasty bursts of noise. This is a fairly quiet laptop that performs well and it is clear that Alienware has engineered the fans curves to make the 13 R3 as civilized as possible.
