Dell Alienware Area-51m is by far the most powerful gaming laptop on the market, thanks to its desktop-class hardware.
Alienware is a massive machine, weighing over 8.5 pounds and measuring 1.7 inches at its thickest point. It has two power adapters, which vary in size depending on the internal configuration, but they add at least another few pounds to the total package.
Area-51M has a core i9-9900K desktop processor with a full-fat Nvidia RTX 2080 video card, is impressive – but that’s not why the Area-51m found itself swimming in positive press.
The keyboard has customizable macro keys and full RGB lighting options, and since most people will instantly plug a gaming mouse into the side of the Area-51m, the trackpad’s small size and so-so tracking performance aren’t that much of an issue.
Ports are plentiful on the Alienware Area-51m. On the right side you have your standard pair of USB 3.0 Type-A connections, and on your left is a third USB-A 3.0 join by a lone Thunderbolt 3 port and a headphone jack as well as a separate input for mics. Sandwiched between the air vents, on the back is where the HDMI, DisplayPort, and RJ-45 Killer E3000 (2.5Gbps) Ethernet are located.
